What This Mentorship Covers
This is a flexible, ongoing process shaped around your work and your direction.
Depending on your needs, sessions may include:
- Direct critique and paintovers on current work
- Technical instruction (color, value, edges, brushwork)
- Materials and process (palette, medium, surface, workflow)
- Composition and visual structure
- Developing a consistent body of work
- Identifying and correcting recurring weaknesses
- Discussions of style, intent, and artistic direction
The goal is long-term development after the fundamentals are in place.
How it Works
Sessions are held live via Google Meet. Before each session you send photos of your current work. During our time together I work directly on your painting in real time using digital tools shared to your screen — you see exactly how I think through a visual problem, not just hear me describe it. Sessions can focus on a single painting or range across technique, materials, and the development of your personal voice.
A Note on Approach
I work from the conviction that most painting problems stem from not yet knowing how to see like a painter. We work through your specific challenges, such as paint handling, color mixing, mark-making, observation, technical aspects, personal style, or whatever is holding you back. Each session builds on the last.My goal is to help you identify areas you want to improve, understand the underlying issues, and have the tools to consistently self-correct. I am not here to teach you to paint like me. I am here to help you see more clearly.
